PAST LAB MEMBERS

    Reed McCardell, Summer Student, 2012

mccardell@ucla.edu

Reed is a senior student at the department of Molecular, Cell and Developmental Biology, College of Letters and Sciences, UCLA, California. He is expected to graduate with honors in June 2013. He joined the laboratory to work on the mechanisms of cell damage in cardiac models of the transthyretin amyloidoses.

    Charles Kacir, Summer Intern 2010.

Charlie finished his second  year at Temple High School in Temple, Texas. He joined the laboratory to work on new recombinant protein production in E.coli.  His efforts are directed to create plasmids encoding with cardiac-specific transthyretin variants and transthyretin chimeras that will help to understand folding and stability of the human TTR protein.
