The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) has named Jennifer Crosby-Meurisse, formerly of Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), as vice president of human resources.
“I am delighted that Jennifer Crosby-Meurisse will lead our Human Resources Department,” said TSRI’s Chief Operating Officer Richard King. “Jen’s two decades of human resources experience will serve us well as we continue to support the important work of TSRI’s scientists in finding solutions to challenging diseases.”
“I am thrilled to be joining TSRI and to be supporting the incredible science and innovation that happens here,” said Crosby-Meurisse. “I am hopeful that the TSRI human resources team will not only continue the excellent work they do, but also will introduce new programs and offerings to support our faculty, staff and postdocs.”
Crosby-Meurisse will be in charge of human resources for TSRI’s California and Florida campuses, including employee recruitment, benefits, compensation, international services, career and postdoctoral services, training, counseling and compliance.
Crosby-Meurisse worked at OHSU— Portland’s largest employer and Oregon’s only health and research university—for more than a decade. There, she was in charge of human resources for the university’s research, academic and international affairs operations, consisting of more than 2,800 faculty and staff.
A graduate of the University of Oregon (BA in sociology, 1995) Crosby-Meurisse has also worked in human resources for PacifiCorp, Inc.; Nature’s Northwest/Wild Oats Markets; and CH2M HILL, Inc. PacifiCorp honored her with the Yoda Award for Exemplary Performance and Nature’s Northwest/Wild Oats Markets named her Regional Manager of the Year.
Crosby-Meurisse is certified as a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) by the Society for Human Resource Management and received a mediation certification from Portland State University.
