The work, led by Laura Niedernhofer of TSRI and Gerold Bepler of the Karmanos Cancer Institute, could help scientists develop new diagnostics and therapies and help physicians determine the best long-term treatments for patients with these cancers.
Work from the Ja lab could lead to more informed research using fruit fly models and better decisions about directions in further studies.
The meeting will bring together basic researchers and clinicians to develop strategies to treat and prevent alcohol and anxiety-related disorders.
