A “Careers in Industry” panel discussion, featuring scientists from four biotechnology companies, is scheduled for Tuesday, February 28, 1:30 to 3 PM, in the Keck Amphitheater on the California campus and streamed live, 4:15 to 6 PM, to the Florida campus in Room B158.
Panel members will share practical advice related to their career transitions, covering current job descriptions, opportunities in their fields, training opportunities, and career information resources.

The upcoming three-session Career Transitions workshop, designed to help postdoctoral fellows and graduate students explore career options, will be held Wednesdays, 4:30 PM, February 29, March 7, and March 14, in the graduate office conference room.

Applications for the next round of California Society of Fellows (SOF) Postdoctoral Travel Awards are due Thursday, March 1.
The awards are intended to provide postdocs opportunities to present scholarly activities at scientific national or international conferences, according to Ryan Wheeler, manager of the Postdoctoral Services Office, which administers the program.
A maximum of three grants of up to $1,000 each will be awarded for conference-related costs, including travel, housing, and conference registration. A selection committee of five Scripps Research postdocs will review the applications.
Previous award applicants may apply again, but past award winners are ineligible. Eligibility, specific application procedures, and proposal guidelines can be found on the Career and Postdoctoral Services webpage.
