Scripps Research Associate Professor Paul Kenny is the featured speaker in the Wednesday, February 8 Faculty Lecture Series presentation, scheduled for 5 PM in the Timken Amphitheater at Green Hospital. Kenny’s lecture topic is “A microRNA Signaling Cascade that Drives Compulsive Cocaine Use.” A reception will follow the lecture in the Arnold and Mabel Beckman Building, first floor. Scripps Research Training is offering employees a new class, “Getting Things Done—A New Look at Time Management.” Led by Training Specialist Braden Klingaman and based on the philosophy of David Allen as outlined in the book Getting Things Done—The Art of Stress-Free Productivity, the class will focus on self and organizational management, both at and outside of work. By focusing on five phases of managing one's actions, participants will discover how to clear their minds, organize their thoughts, and put a structured system in place to achieve effective productivity.
The class—to be held in the HR Training Room, 3377 North Torrey Pines Court, Suite 205, on the California campus—will be repeated on: Thursday, February 2, 9 to 11 AM; Tuesday, February 7, 1 to 3 PM; Wednesday, February 15, 9 to 11 AM. Register to sign up for your preferred class time.
