Half a dozen affinity groups—organizations that promote intellectual
enrichment, scientific discussion, and exchange of ideas within a research
area—are active on campus. Professor Frances Arnold (pictured here)
of the California Institute of Technology gave a recent lecture to TSRI's
Structure and Chemistry Affinity Group. Other TSRI affinity groups focus
on cancer, pathogenesis, immunology, vascular biology, and molecular
and cell biology.
