Born in Whitehead, Northern Ireland, Clifford Rainey has been an artist
and teacher for nearly three decades and has exhibited his work in galleries
and shows all over the United States and Europe.
His formal training began when he studied drawing as a youth in his
native Belfast in the 1960s, and culminated with a Master of Fine Arts
Degree from the Royal Academy of Art in London in the early 1970s.
Before embarking on a lifetime career as an artist, the young Rainey
spent a few summers in such disparate occupations as working on a trawler
in Iceland and touring with a circus in Norway.
