The sculpture is formed by eleven segments of solid glass stacked
one on top of the other. Each disc is cast around the figure of a man,
which was modeled realistically first and then reformed into an elongated,
Giacometti-like form. The elongation was necessary because the curvature
of the glass
"The optical illusion fills out the figure, returning it to its original
form," says Rainey.
If you look closely, you can see that the actual size of the man on
the inside (seen from top) is much smaller than the image cast by the
glass (seen from the side).
