TSRI Investigator Receives Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
Award
TSRI Associate Professor Wendy Havran is being awarded the
Stohlman Scholar Award from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Havran has a long-term interest in interactions between intraepithelial
gd T cells and neighboring epithelial
cells. She has focused her studies on interactions in the
thymus, skin, and intestine, investigating the development,
specificity, and function of these gd
T cells. Her studies support a specialized role for epithelial
gd T cells in immune surveillance,
wound repair, inflammation, and protection from malignancy.
