A More Intensive Program for College Students

For the third year running, funding from the Kenan Trust also enabled Scripps Florida to offer more intensive 10-week internships for five college students who previously participated in the high school program. These five were joined by nine other college interns, five supported by Palm Beach-based Lydian Bank & Trust and four by the Scripps Research Kellogg School of Science and Technology.

"Working in the lab was wonderful because I had the opportunity to learn a lot of new techniques, which will be especially helpful going into biochemistry this year," said Megan Novak, a senior at Furman University who worked in the Karbstein lab this summer. "It was a great experience that I hope is a lot like grad school!"
