Recognizing Individual Accomplishment

Each student at the ceremony was honored individually by his or her advisor, who publicly recognized the student's unique contributions and achievements. Almost half of this year's graduates were chemists. Some had come to science from fields as diverse as journalism and scientific illustration. Many had already built impressive records of awards and publications. All could now boast of scientific achievements.
