Scientists Celebrate with Science

The next day, faculty from both the Jupiter and La Jolla Scripps Research campuses and leading scientists from other Florida biomedical research organizations participated in an all-day scientific symposium, with seminars on cellular biology, metabolism and aging, and molecular therapeutics.

The event included talks by Nobel laureates Paul Greengard (top left) and Susumu Tonegawa (top right), who are members of the Scripps Research Board of Scientific Governors, as well as appearances by Scripps Research faculty, including Roy Smith, the chair of the Department of Metabolism and Aging (bottom left), and Gerald Joyce, dean of the faculty and organizer of the event (bottom right).
