Symposium Offers Leadership Training

Postdocs and junior faculty from Scripps Research were among the participants of the third annual San Diego Lab Management Course January 22 and 23, which focused on topics critical for those making the transition from postdoc to lab head, including leadership, time management, hiring, and start-up budgets. New this year at the symposium, organized jointly by Scripps Research, Burnham, UCSD, and Salk, was a course in Leadership and Responsible Research, presented by Michael Kalichman (bottom) of UCSD Research Ethics Program.
