Travis Young Wins Lesly Starr Shelton Award Travis Young, a Ph.D. candidate at the Kellogg School of Science and Technology at The Scripps Research Institute, has been selected to receive the 2008 Lesly Starr Shelton Award for Excellence in Chemistry Graduate Studies. The prestigious award is given to graduate students of exemplary standing and progress. Young, a member of the Schultz lab, is currently investigating the adaptation of the Schultz lab's unnatural amino acid methodology to the methylotrophic yeast Pichia pastoris for the expression of therapeutically relevant proteins with enhanced properties.
