Library Tip: SciFinder Scholar Changes
On January 2, 2008, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) will discontinue the following versions of SciFinder Scholar:

  • SciFinder Scholar 2004.2 for Windows
  • SciFinder Scholar 2004.2 for Mac (OS 9)
  • SciFinder Scholar Mac OS X 1.0 for Mac (OS X)

To ensure continued access to the CAS databases, please upgrade to the latest version of SciFinder Scholar by the end of December 2007. After that time, the versions of the SciFinder Scholar client noted above will be unable to access the CAS server. Download and installation information for the latest versions (both Mac and PC) can be found at: http://www.scripps.edu/library/Scifinder.html.

Upcoming Onsite Clinics
On Monday, December 17, Wednesday, December 19, and Friday, December 21, personnel from Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group will be onsite to conduct TB screenings, hepatitis B immunizations, serum draws, and tetanus immunizations.

The clinics will be conducted in the 3366 Building, in Room 325, on the third floor, from 11 AM to 2 PM on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

No appointments are necessary. TB screening requires a 48 to 72 hour follow-up. Individuals receiving the TB screen on Monday will need to return on Wednesday, and individuals screened on Wednesday, will need to return on Friday. Initiation of the TB screening process will not be available on Friday, but hepatitis B immunization, serum draws, and tetanus immunizations will be.
