X-Sci/2006 Celebrates Science

Some 270 students from nine high schools arrive at The Scripps Research Institute's La Jolla campus on Tuesday, November 14 to attend X-Sci/2006, a half-day science festival for San Diego high school students.

"We welcome classes interested in expanding students' science literacy," says Marisela Chevez, director of the Science Outreach Program. "X-Sci provides an opportunity for San Diego students to gain insight into the workings of basic scientific research, as well as to learn about career opportunities in the biosciences."
