A Life-Long Love of Science

For some students, one summer experience sparks a life-long love of science. Justin Chartron, for example, has kept returning to the Stout lab since his internship as a high school student in 2001—not only in high school, but also throughout four years of college at the University of California, San Diego, and acceptance to the California Institute of Technology, where he will begin a graduate program in biology in the fall.

"After my first project in the lab, I thought, 'This is really neat. I want to do this as much as possible,'" he says.
