Great American Smokeout
Thursday, November 17 marked the American Cancer Society's 29th annual Great American Smokeout. The American Cancer Society provides information to help smokers quit on its website at http://www.cancer.org/docroot/PED/ped_10_4.asp and through its 24-hour toll-free “Quitline” at (877) 937-7848.

As a benefit to employees and research associates, reimbursement up to $125 is available for smoking cessation classes. To learn more about this benefit, contact Benefits Administration at benefits@scripps.edu or x4-8487.


Library Tip: Answering Who, What, Where, and Why?
Frequently asked questions (FAQ) about library resources and materials are answered on the library webpage under General Information, Library Services, Library Materials, and Where Can I Find?. Upcoming Onsite Clinics
On Monday, November 28, Wednesday, November 30, and Friday, December 2, personnel from Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group will be on-site to conduct TB screenings, hepatitis B immunizations, serum draws, and tetanus immunizations. The clinics will be conducted at the CVN Building in Room 209, from 11 AM to 2 PM. No appointments are necessary. TB screening requires a 48 to 72 hour follow-up. Individuals receiving the TB screen on Monday will need to return on Wednesday, and individuals screened on Wednesday, will need to return on Friday. Initiation of the TB screening process will not be available on Friday, but hepatitis B immunization, serum draws, and tetanus immunizations will be.
