Scopes in the Schools

Even though many secondary schools had let out for the summer, the Scripps Research "Scopes in the Schools Project" continued to deliver microscopes to educational programs.

Here, Scripps Research graduate students Lindsey Macpherson and Jamie Keck visit the Elementary Institute of Science, which offers summer and after-school programs for kids ages 7 through 13. The Scripps Research graduate students demonstrated the Olympus MIC-D microscope, a digital microscope marketed for educational use that allows live images to be viewed on a computer monitor.
