When the Scripps Research team
left, High Tech Middle School had two digital microscopes and a magnified enthusiasm for science.

Ken Fish, assistant professor in the Department of Neuropharmacology at Scripps Research, was the catalyst for the program. "The generosity of Olympus has allowed 12 San Diego junior high and high schools to incorporate the Olympus MIC-D digital microscope into their curriculum," he says. "This will surely help foster the next generation of scientists by allowing hundreds of local students for years to come to visualize the microscopic world around them."
