Romesberg Named Finalist in Discover Awards for Innovation in Basic Research
Assistant Professor Floyd Romesberg of The Scripps Research Institute was named a finalist in the 15th annual Discover Awards for Innovation in Basic Research, sponsored by Discover Magazine and the Christopher Columbus Foundation. The Christopher Columbus Foundation, established by Congress in 1992, encourages and supports "research, study, and labor designed to produce new discoveries in all fields of endeavor for the benefit of mankind."
Romesberg's research interests focus on understanding and evolving novel protein function. To this end, his lab draws on a wide variety of techniques, including synthesis, phage display, and femtosecond spectroscopy.
