In the keynote address, Dwek—professor, director of the Glycobiology Institute, and head of the Department of Biochemistry at Oxford University—tells the graduating students:

"This is indeed a very special day for you all as you complete your graduation for your Ph.D. degree. However, you should not think of this occasion as the end of your education... You have graduated from one of the great institutes in the world and, as well as being a great privilege, this carries with it great responsibility."
