sciences, DNA sequencing, animal resources, antibody production,

is a natural progression of the institute's growth here and
expansion to Florida," says Holmes.

has participated in regulatory compliance. "The new position,
though, is more about science than law. I'm putting my 'Ph.D.'
hat back on."
Goal in the New Position: "To ensure that research
services both here and in Florida are efficient, user-friendly,
and responsive to the needs of the institute."
Favorite Part of the Job: "The challenge!"
Family Life: Holmes lives with her husband, Scripps
Research Associate Professor Bruce Torbett, and their two

green tree frog, Hoppy, and an anole lizard, Camo. "Kids keep
you young."
