The Scripps Research Institute's plans to open a campus in Palm Beach
County, Florida continues to be covered extensively in the press. The most
complete coverage has been provided by the Florida papers. Palm
Beach Post headlines during the past week have included: "Scripps

TSRI Associate Professor Benjamin Cravatt is featured in a cover story
of Genomics and Proteomics this month, "Cannabinoid
Enzymes and Chemical Proteomics." .
Lunch & Learn: "How to Get Your Partner to Help Around the House"
Clinical psychologist Jeff Jones of the TSRI Counseling and Postdoctoral
Services Department will present "How to Get Your Partner to Help Around
the House," as part of the ongoing Lunch & Learn seminar series, on Wednesday,
October 22, from noon to 1 PM. The seminar will address trends in housework,
the "division of labor" in the household, and practical strategies for
resolving the "housework hassles." The event will be held in the W. M.
Keck Amphitheater, The Beckman Center for Chemical Sciences. For more

Benefits Administration to Hold Open Enrollment, Benefits Fair
Benefits Administration will hold Open Enrollment via an online system
from Monday, November 3 through Friday, November 14. Open Enrollment is
the annual opportunity for participants to make changes to their benefit
selections and, if eligible, enroll (or re-enroll) in Health Care and/or
Dependent Care Spending Accounts for the following calendar year. Instructions
on how to access the online system will be mailed to the homes of all
eligible participants by November 3. Kiosks will be available in Human
Resources for employees who DO NOT have computer access.
A Benefits Fair on Wednesday, November 5, from 10 AM to 1 PM in the Immunology
Galleria will feature representatives from each of the companies providing
benefits, as well as Human Resources staff. Refreshments will be served
and a raffle will be held. In addition, question and answer sessions with
Human Resources staff will be held in six TSRI buildings during the Open
Enrollment period. There will also be informational sessions for the Health
Care and Dependent Care Spending Accounts and Long Term Care Insurance.

TB Screenings, Hepatitis B Immunizations, Serum Draws, and Tetanus
Vaccinations
On Monday, October 20, Wednesday, October 22, and Friday, October 24,
personnel from Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group will be on-site to conduct
TB screenings, Hepatitis B immunizations, serum draws, and tetanus immunizations.
The clinics will be conducted at the Administrative Offices (3301 North
Torrey Pines Court) on the P1 level from 11 AM to 2 PM. No appointments
are necessary. TB screening requires a 48 to 72 hour follow-up. Individuals
receiving the TB screen on Monday will need to return on Wednesday, and
individuals screened on Wednesday, will need to return on Friday. Initiation
of the TB screening process will not be available on Friday, but hepatitis
B immunization, serum draws, and Tetanus immunizations will be available.
