A number of Ph.D. candidates defended their theses this summer. Among
them, Chemistry student Christopher J. Anderson spoke on his dissertation,
"Pathway Engineering of the Expanding Genetic Code." Anderson's dissertation
was written under the guidance of Peter Schultz, professor of chemistry
and Scripps Family Chair at TSRI's Skaggs Institute of Chemical Biology.
TSRI's Ph.D. program, The Kellogg School of Science and Technology,
is ranked among the top in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
