Barbas Listed in ISI Update
As an indication that his papers are highly cited, the Institute for Scientific Information's (ISI) Essential Science Indicators recent update lists Professor Carlos F. Barbas, III as the scientist "achieving entrance into the database with the highest number of total citations" in the field of immunology. ISI Essential Science Indicators is a web-based data file reflecting upwards of 7 million papers in the last decade. See http://www.in-cites.com/newentrants/august2003.html.


Northrup to Present Ethics in Science Course

TSRI's annual Ethics in Science course will be presented by Thomas Northrup, of TSRI's Office of Patent Counsel, on Tuesday, September 16, and again on Tuesday, September 23, from 9 AM to noon. Both classes will be held in the Scripps Green Hospital's Valerie Timken Amphitheater. Registration forms and information have been mailed to all new research associates. All research associates/postdoctoral fellows who have not previously attended the course at TSRI are required to register for one of these classes.
