Get Ready, Get Set, Get Picnic Tickets
Don't miss this year's TSRI picnic, a Renaissance extravaganza that will include a medieval feast, court jester, magician, jousting in full steel armor, period costume contest, and juggling competition. Tickets to the event—to be held Friday, July 25, from 3:30 to 7:30 PM—are not sold at the door, so be sure to buy yours in advance.

Learn Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Power Point, or Windows

Learn how to use desktop applications such as Dreamweaver, Acrobat, Power Point, or Windows by attending a Research Computing training class. If you are interested in learning how to build a simple "lab" web site using TSRI templates, sign up for the Tuesday, July 22 Dreamweaver class. If you've been using Acrobat for basic or complex forms and would like to learn what the full program can do, including digital mark-up for group writing/editing projects and incorporation of sound and movie files into documents, sign up for the Tuesday, August 5 Acrobat Enhancements class. Personal Skills for Life & Work: "Civility Matters"
Jan Hill and Jeff Jones of the Employee and Graduate Student Counseling Department will lead a workshop, "Civility Matters: Confronting Workplace Incivility," on Friday, July 18, from noon to 1 PM as part of the Personal Skills for Life & Work seminar series. Questions to be addressed include: What is workplace incivility? Why is rudeness on the rise? What can be done about it? The seminar will be held in the second floor Training Room (Room 205), 3377 North Torrey Pines Court. No reservations are necessary. Cookies will be served. Reminder: Transit Benefit
Benefits Administration would like to remind TSRI employees about the Transit Benefit Account, which allows you to reduce your taxable income by purchasing eligible transportation fares through a pre-tax payroll deduction of up to $100 per month. Eligible expenses include bus fares, commuter van fares, and commuter railroad fairs (Coaster). To participate, you must be a benefit-eligible member of our scientific and support staff or a research associate working at least 20 hours per week, and you must receive a taxable paycheck from TSRI. New Café Opens in CarrB
