The X-Sci event culminated with presentations in the Neurosciences
Institute Auditorium. TSRI Communications Coordinator Jennifer O'Sullivan,
who organized the event, gave an overview of TSRI's educational programs
and introduced the other speakers. Associate Professors Roberta Gottlieb
(left) of the Department of Molecular and Experimental Medicine and
Martin Friedlander (right) of the Department of Cell Biology gave presentations
on their research.
Kim Bess, science director for the San Diego City Schools, encouraged
the students to continue to learn about science, noting "you are the
future of science and medicine."
