Automobilia Display Pays Tribute to ICND Donors

Those who routinely pass through the lobby of the Institute for Childhood and Neglected Diseases (ICND) probably noticed a new set of model cars, trophies, and other automobia on display this week. Although the particular pieces are changed from time to time, the automobile collectibles installation is a lasting tribute to the generous donations of John and Rebecca Moores and other automobile enthusiasts who supported the foundation of the ICND through their extraordinary philanthropy. As the dedication in the building's entranceway states:

We often speak of innovation in scientific inquiry, but the spirit of innovation is also typified by unique ways of being philanthropic. Innovative spirit: John and Becky Moores, who saw the opportunity to turn their life long collections of coins and exotic cars into support for creating this Institute for Childhood and Neglected Diseases. The Moores' generosity and initiative in launching this Institute have attracted many others to join in support of this bright hope for the future of people everywhere.

This is is a slideshow of the collectables that were on display over the summer.
