Palm Beach County Students And Teachers To Present Research From Summer Internships At Scripps Florida
What: | 13 high school students (juniors & seniors) and 3 science teachers from schools across Palm Beach County will give brief (~15 minute) presentations highlighting their work in Scripps Research Institute Florida research laboratories this summer. Attending the interns' presentations will be their scientific mentors, family and friends, plus previous summer interns who have since gone on to prestigious universities all over the United States. Also in attendance will be several of the students' high school science teachers and representatives from the School District of Palm Beach County. Due to limited seating, this event is NOT open to the public. This is the sixth consecutive year Scripps Florida has welcomed local high school students and teachers into the labs for a six-week hands-on research experience. This year's class of 16 represents the highest number to date. Interns work alongside Scripps Florida scientists on topics ranging from cancer biology and aging research to medicinal chemistry and neuroscience. |
