Mine is an early '71, the 2437th off the Dearborn line. As you can see, this is a plain Jane pony. The only options on this baby were the V8, the hub caps, and the AM radio. I've had it since I was a senior in high school and I guess I'd better keep it at this point. I'm at about 140,000 miles on the clock now.

(3/96) Recently I've hit the wrecking yards a bit, and I have a few things sitting in my garage to make it a bit more comfortable. I have a complete air conditioner (which will require dismantling the interior to about the last screw for installation). I have finished installing the original AM/FM radio, though it has a bad stereo decoder chip. My friend Corey bypassed the chip so I can have FM mono at least, and I found a guy on the web (listed below) who repairs old car radios and who told me what chip to use as a replacement. My center console is installed and I think looks pretty good. And the clock works!

(6/96) The latest addition is a freshly rebuilt engine. When it came back from the shop it did not have a working distributor vacuum advance, but now that I replaced that it seems to run pretty well. It got a new radiator (I guess that is no suprise after 25 years), a rebuilt carburetor, and a new clutch. I'm pretty happy about the whole thing. Next I have to save up some money to get some body work done.
