Xiaoyan Liao is a postdoctoral researcher who joined the lab in 2009. She received her PhD degree from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 2007, focusing on Developmental and Molecular Toxicology. She was the recipient of UCLA Chancellor’s Fellowship in 2002 and 2006, worked as a study director in Toxicology before she found her real enthusiasm in stem cell biology. Her major research interests are applying the knowledge of developmental biology to reprogram one differentiated cell type into another, understanding microRNA regulations in organogenesis, and using bioinformatic tools to explore gene regulatory networks in pluripotent and non-pluripotent cells.
