Start a Project

Have an idea for a project?

Email your suggestion to sagroup@scripps.edu or present it in a committee meeting. We will determine if it meets our guidelines and will let you know.

Request support: Starting a project

If you would like to request support from ScrippsAssists™ for your project or event, please send an email. We must verify that the group or project meets the qualifications of a 501(3)c charitable nonprofit agency. A current Scripps Research employee must lead  all ScrippsAssists™ supported projects.

ScrippsAssists™ Project Guidelines

Projects are selected from member suggestions and community requests. We seek to achieve a balance between purely fundraising projects and more hands-on work.

What kind of projects are supported?

ScrippsAssists™ projects support recognized charitable, 501(3)c non-profit agencies.

Examples of past and current projects include: trail maintenance at Torrey Pines State Reserve, serving meals to the homeless at St. Vincent de Paul Village, sorting/packing food for distribution from the San Diego Food Bank, American Cancer Society's Daffodil Days, Adopt-a-Family, Habitat for Humanity's low income housing construction, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation's Walk for the Cure, Adopt-a-Block graffiti cleanup, Big Brothers & Big Sisters of San Diego, Rolling Readers, Special Olympics swim meets, Head Start, Scripps-Mercy Home Health Care holiday baskets, and many more.

Some projects are very short in duration while others offer an ongoing commitment.
